French

I have over thirty years experience as a French teacher working in a number of different schools in the UK and I am a fluent, near-native speaker.

In fact when I visit France I sometimes get mistaken for a resident, which often confounds a few preconceptions of the British!

As you may imagine I’m something of a Francophile and enjoy visits to France when I can stock up on resources to use back in the classroom. As a teacher I try to pass on my enthusiasm and love of the language, and over recent years I’ve made it my mission to do the same for other teachers.

In my work in school I successfully introduced French for Key Stage 2 children, was funded to undertake a two-week training course in Besançon, France, organised by CILT and I am an AQA-accredited presenter. Since 2005 I have been running a growing range of workshops and training sessions around the UK.

When it comes to primary modern language training I take a non-specific approach and make sure that all of my approaches and ideas can be easily transferred to other European language teaching such as Spanish and German.
